Chicago Federation of Labor Endorses Dunne for Alderman in 48
The Chicago Federation of Labor, an umbrella organization for local unions, has endorsed Joe Dunne, a longtime Edgewater resident, for Alderman of the 48th Ward. The CFL is a subsidiary of the AFL-CIO and has some 320 affiliated member unions representing half a million union men and women in Cook County.

“I’m proud to receive the endorsement of the Chicago Federation of Labor,” said Dunne. “I know
the importance of union jobs and union benefits for working families.”
The Municipal Elections will be held February 28 with early voting starting in late January.
Last month, Dunne, a businessman, was endorsed by former State Senator Heather Steans
and former Alderman Mary Ann Smith of the 48th Ward.
Dunne is vice president of Real Estate Development for Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation
and previously served as senior development manager for Holsten Real Estate Development
Corporation. Prior posts include district development coordinator/ deputy director for the Illinois
Medical District Commission as well as project administrator/ manager for the City of Chicago’s
Department of Planning and Development.
He received an M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management in finance and real estate.
Dunne lives in the Edgewater home his parents bought and in which he was raised. He now
lives there with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children; Bridget, 15, Molly, 13, and Joe, 11.
